Green Thumbs & Dirt Under Our Nails

Guessssssss What!?!  OUR LANDSCAPING [project for the summer] is DONE! Done, done, done, done, done! And we couldn't be happier.  And by "we", I really mean, "I", Deanne, am THRILLED to have our landscaping-the-front-of-the-house project over.

Reed, on the other hand, claims to have discovered a new found love for outdoor work.  While he is relishing in his accomplishments and feeling success as he sees new things grow, I am hating on the entire project. Haters gotta hate. Landscaping/outside work is just not my cup of tea.  It didn't help that we decided to tackle this project during the hottest and driest summer to hit the Midwest since we were born.

Which brings me to my next point.  Apologies.  We have been terrible at posting this summer.  Since we made it our ultimate goal to finish the front landscaping by the end of Spring 2012 Summer 2012, we have had zero time for the fun remodeling, decorating, aka enjoyable activities at the Panther house since April. No one likes to read (or write for that matter) depressing posts about how this project felt uninspiring and never-ending, so we just stopped.  But its over, and our blog posts are about to get more frequent and more fun (hopefully); and involve less dirt, plants and living things.

But before we move on to the above mentioned "fun-filled" posts, we feel that it is our obligation to show you what we ended up with (besides feelings of hate towards outside work).  It is only fair that we finish what we started here and here.  And hey, despite the overall dislike of outside work, we are pretty darn proud of our new landscaping.

So without further ado, allow me to do show you a little recap of the "Summer 2012 at the Panther House."

Don't mind the little flags in the photo below- we are debating adding a few more plants to that section (next year, of course).
